Job Title: Mechanical/Senior Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical/Senior Design Engineer to join our team in Edinburgh. As a key member of our building services team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering mechanical designs for large-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design mechanical systems in conjunction with fire strategy reports, local building regulations, and planning authority requirements.
  • Attend design team meetings and collaborate with colleagues to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Conduct site surveys of existing installations where applicable.
  • Produce heating and cooling load calculations using industry software.
  • Select and size mechanical equipment, including AHUs, FCUs, extract fans, pumps, chillers, and boilers.
  • Design and size above ground drainage systems and domestic hot and cold-water equipment.
  • Produce detailed design and survey reports.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in mechanical engineering building services for construction.
  • Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Good knowledge of CIBSE, IEC, BS, IS, and EN Irish, UK standards or ASHRAE.
  • Working knowledge of design software such as Hevacomp, Carrier HAP, CyMap, and IES/TAS.
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
