Job Title: Additive Manufacturing Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Additive Manufacturing Specialist to join our team at Aston Martin F1 Team. As a key member of our Model Manufacturing team, you will be responsible for the operation, programming, maintenance, and optimization of additive manufacturing systems to produce high-quality components for our F1 Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a range of additive manufacturing machines, including SLS, SLA, and FDM technologies, ensuring optimal performance and precision.
  • Program and prepare builds for 3D printing, including slicing, part orientation, and support generation to maximize efficiency, improve part accuracy, minimize material usage, and ensure build success.
  • Manufacture high-quality, functional, and lightweight components such as aerodynamic parts, jigs, fixtures, and tooling through additive manufacturing processes.
  • Perform inspections, measurements, and post-processing (e.g., finishing, sanding, curing) of 3D printed parts to meet strict engineering specifications and performance standards.
  • Prepare and handle a variety of advanced materials, such as polymers, composites, and metal powders, ensuring correct usage and traceability.
  • Identify and resolve issues in the printing process, machine calibration, build programming, or part quality to minimize downtime and wastage.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in additive manufacturing technologies and materials, suggesting and implementing improvements to enhance production efficiency and component performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of all production processes, machine settings, build programming, and component quality checks for traceability and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time while maintaining quality across the ADM department.
  • Work closely with design and manufacturing engineers to provide feedback on design feasibility, recommend improvements, and ensure AM parts are fit for purpose.
