About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Civil Engineer to join our team at CV-Library. As a key member of our engineering consultancy, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality projects and expanding our civil engineering services.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Project Delivery: Manage the operational delivery of projects, ensuring effective planning, organization, and execution in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  2. Business Development: Prepare fee proposals and tenders for civil engineering projects and work packages, identifying new business opportunities and developing strategic plans to drive growth.
  3. Technical Expertise: Prepare technical solutions for projects, meeting or exceeding client requirements, and collaborating with clients and project team professionals to ensure successful project outcomes.
  4. Commercial Management: Monitor and assess the effectiveness of service delivery against client requirements, ensuring projects are delivered profitably and in line with company objectives.
  5. Team Leadership: Develop operational programs, policies, and procedures, and conduct assessments and evaluations of delivery, while also mentoring and coaching team staff to enhance their skills and performance.
Requirements
  1. Education: Relevant university degree in Civil Engineering.
  2. Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of regulations and design standards related to roads and drainage, including Scottish Water, CIRIA, Building Regulations, and relevant planning requirements.
  3. Experience: Demonstrable experience of obtaining approvals for designs from statutory authorities, such as councils, Scottish Water, and SEPA.
  4. Communication Skills: Experience of dealing directly with clients and other building professionals, including project managers, architects, and planning consultants.
  5. Software Skills: Capability in the use of industry-standard software, such as PDS, Civils 3D, and Autocad.
