About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Python Developer to join our team at Insight Investment. As a Graduate Trading Technology Developer, you will play a key role in driving the architecture and code base used for our systematic investment process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and drive the architecture and Python code base used for systematic investment process
  • Collaborate closely with research, portfolio management team, and IT to deliver high-quality software solutions
  • Contribute to the development, testing, and deployment of our core software product written in Python
  • Design and implement database management systems, including data storage solutions and ETL processes
  • Automate processes and workflows using Python and cloud-based technologies
  • Document code, processes, releases, and configurations to ensure maintainability and scalability
  • Link quantitative researchers with the wider technology team to enable new research and development
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field
  • Deep understanding of core Python language and its applications
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, cloud deployment, and integration with SQL, Rest APIs, and websockets
  • Ability to implement systematic signals from scripts and formulas into production-ready code
  • Knowledge of database management, including schema design and deployment
  • Understanding of permissions and security requirements within a database context
  • Ability to write wrappers around data APIs and clean and enrich data
