We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Scientist to collaborate with the Met Office in Exeter, UK, on a 9-month contract with a strong likelihood of extension. The successful candidate will work closely with the Joint UK Land Environment Simulator (JULES) on the Met Office HPC.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, run, and analyze experiments to assess the impact of CO2 response on vegetation in contemporary and future regional carbon sinks and ecosystems.
- Develop the JULES model by incorporating new science components from the wider project.
Requirements:
- PhD or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Experience in running land models, preferably JULES-based setups.
- Knowledge of climate model data.
- Security clearance to work unsupervised at the Met Office.
Additional Information:
- Availability to start immediately or at short notice.
- Right to work in the UK.
