Position Overview

We are currently looking for a Logistics Coordinator to enhance our Transport team, collaborating closely with internal departments and the Intermodal Manager to oversee our transport booking needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Logistics Management

  • Oversee haulage assignments and daily operations as necessary.
  • Act as the primary contact for both internal teams and external clients.
  • Fulfill all logistical requirements or propose alternative solutions as needed.

Service Level & Cost Management

  • Ensure all haulage needs are satisfied by authorized suppliers.
  • Adapt to and consider alternative logistical requirements as they arise.
  • Continuously balance cost efficiency with service quality.

Haulage Product Development

  • Manage key accounts, sustaining and enhancing essential flow requirements while supporting the Multimodal Transport Manager.
  • Monitor supplier performance metrics and assist in management tasks.
  • Foster relationships with all suppliers and key contacts at shipping lines.
  • Contribute to the development of transport systems, enhancing internal processes.

Required Experience:

  • Experience in UK haulage operations, including FCL/LCL and warehousing.
  • Familiarity with intermodal transport and operations across multiple ports.
  • Strong geographic knowledge and understanding of container inventory.

Essential Skills:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong planning skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proactive team player with excellent time management and organizational capabilities.
  • Proficient in computer systems (Microsoft Windows) and office applications (Microsoft Office).
  • Understanding the significance of detail orientation and its commercial implications.
