Job Title: Senior Media Advisor

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a highly skilled Senior Media Advisor to join our media and communications team. As a key member of our team, you will play a lead role in promoting and protecting the council's reputation through effective management of online, social, and traditional media.

About the Role

This is a key position at the heart of a large, high-performing council, and you will be responsible for developing and overseeing effective and creative external and internal campaigns. You will work closely with our multi-disciplined comms team to design, deliver, and evaluate comms strategies and implementation plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective media and communications strategies to promote the council's reputation and achieve its objectives.
  • Manage online, social, and traditional media to ensure consistent and accurate messaging.
  • Lead a team of communications professionals to deliver high-quality campaigns and comms activities.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders to develop and implement comms plans that support the council's priorities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of comms activities and make recommendations for improvement.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of journalism and media relations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Experience of designing, delivering, and evaluating comms strategies and implementation plans.
