Job Overview

Dundee City Council is seeking a qualified and experienced Supply Teacher to join our team of professionals in one of our Secondary Schools. As a Supply Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to assigned pupils and contributing to the professional life of the school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver quality education to assigned pupils, adhering to the Curriculum for Excellence framework.
  • Contribute to the professional life of the school, working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve educational goals.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, taking into account the needs and abilities of pupils.
  • Assess pupil progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to support their development.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with best practices and curriculum developments.

Requirements

  • GTCS Registration (Secondary) is essential for this role.
  • Knowledge of relevant curriculum areas and awareness of current issues in Scottish education is required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, communicating with colleagues and pupils to achieve educational goals.
  • Positive and caring approach, with a commitment to supporting the educational and personal development of pupils.

Regulatory Requirements

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by Dundee City Council.
