About Your New Role

At Weightmans, our Property Litigation team is a dynamic and fast-growing group of experts who act for public and private sector landlords, tenants, and real estate developers. Our client base includes local authorities, NHS Trusts, housing associations, social landlords, blue-chip retailers, and owner-managed businesses.

We utilize bespoke case management systems to ensure that all documents are accurate and consistent, court procedures are followed, and deadlines are met. As a Property Litigation Solicitor, you will join a strong and expanding national property litigation team operating out of four offices: Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, and Manchester.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage your own caseload of mixed property litigation work, which will predominantly include defendant housing disrepair work.
  • Caseload may include commercial cases such as estate management work, possession actions, business lease renewals, injunctions, etc.
  • Caseload may also include residential cases such as possessions, rent recovery, disrepair, etc. for both housing association and other residential landlords.
  • Assist other case handlers with their caseloads.
  • Support and develop more junior members of the team.
  • Assist with business development and profile-raising initiatives, including networking events.
  • Complete MI procedures as required.
  • Achieve set targets/KPIs.
  • Ensure relevant deadlines, compliance, and quality measures are adhered to.
  • Comply with relevant Weightmans and client policies and procedures.
  • Work in accordance with Weightmans' values.
