The Electrical Maintenance Specialist will play a crucial role in the upkeep, enhancement, and decommissioning of remote handling apparatus utilized in complex environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct maintenance and modifications on remote handling apparatus, including the safe decommissioning of existing systems.
  • Support the testing of systems to ensure adherence to both internal and external safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with Senior Electrical Technicians and Engineers to facilitate planned maintenance and commissioning tasks.
  • Assemble new equipment from technical drawings, including control panels, and perform tasks such as crimping and soldering of wiring harnesses.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Completion of a recognized electrical engineering apprenticeship (or equivalent) with relevant qualifications in engineering or workshop practices.
  • Familiarity with the current BS7671 Wiring Regulations.
  • Proficient in interpreting and working from technical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience in a safety-focused work environment.
  • Adaptable work ethic with the capability to function independently or as part of a team.

Additional Information:

  • The Electrical Maintenance Specialist will assist in maintaining accurate documentation of equipment status.
  • There may be occasions where work is required in controlled environments, necessitating the use of specialized protective equipment. Comprehensive training and certification will be provided.
  • Flexibility in working hours may be required, including occasional shifts or out-of-hours attendance.
