We are seeking a highly skilled Control Systems Engineer to join our team at NES Fircroft, a leading global workforce solutions provider to the energy, process and infrastructure industries.


The successful candidate will provide technical expertise for the maintenance, development, configuration, and system administration of plant control systems, including ICS, ESD, and Fiscal Measurement Systems. Strong knowledge of industrial cybersecurity regulations and best practices is essential.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge of industrial cybersecurity best practices and regulations, ensuring ICS systems remain compliant with company standards.
  • Maintain and repair Fiscal metering systems, ICS systems, including Batch and SIS, communication systems, and data links.
  • Participate in a 24-hour emergency call-out rota for control systems.
  • Provide design, installation, and commissioning skills for ICS, Fiscal Metering, and minor control/instrument projects.
  • Maintain ICS configuration, ICS hardware and software, ICS backup, and security.
  • Prepare cost estimates, project work scopes, enquiry documentation, and material requisitions.
  • Maintain control systems in accordance with relevant procedures and assist with annual audits.
  • Ensure all agreed MoC modifications/changes comply with site procedures and working instructions and have the required as-built documentation and PMs in place.
  • System fault finding and safe implementation of acceptable solutions.


Requirements and Qualifications

  • Candidates will hold a degree in Control, Instrument, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Chartered or working towards Chartership.
  • Control Systems and DCS experience in the O&G, Chemical, or other regulated industry.
  • Knowledge of maintaining ICS system cybersecurity in accordance with industry best practice.
  • Knowledge of Fiscal measurement systems.
  • Knowledge of Functional safety management and SIL.
  • Sound understanding of the complete project lifecycle, including problem definition, studies, conceptual and detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning, operation, maintenance, inspection, assessment, and repair.
  • Ability to use Microsoft packages and SAP.
