Job Title: Apprentice Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Apprentice Mechanical Engineer to join our team at a fast-paced production facility in Wakefield.

About the Role:
  • As an Apprentice Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring planned maintenance is carried out in line with the site schedule.
  • You will liaise with other departments to ensure tasks are completed with little to no impact on operations.
  • You will establish capability of all site services processes and follow statistical process controls to monitor and ensure processes are stable and deliver products that meet customer specifications.
  • You will continuously improve standards set by facilitating and executing 8 Step Practical Problem Solving or other appropriate KPS methodologies within the site maintenance team.
  • You will liaise with engineering colleagues on a regular basis to communicate equipment status and performance against the required schedule.
  • You will ensure all engineering work carried out in the value stream meets the requirements of Quality, Safety, Health & Environment policies & procedures.
  • You will document standard work & standard confirmation to ensure documents are up to date and reflect the preventive maintenance.
Requirements:
  • Relevant Level 3 Engineering qualification or recognised, standards-based time served apprenticeship.
  • Pipefitting and welding would be an advantage.
  • Relevant experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experienced in a site services role.
  • Proficient written, numerical, and verbal skills.
  • Good computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office family of products.
  • Experience of Maintenance Management Systems & software.

  • A competitive pay rate of £30.00ph dependent on skills and experience.

This is a contract role working Monday to Friday - Days. You must be available to start immediately.
