BAM Nuttall is seeking a motivated geotechnical expert to enhance our project acquisition team as a Lead Geotechnical Estimator. In this role, you will engage in intricate major undertakings, extensive infrastructure projects, as well as smaller-scale ground engineering assignments, all of which will challenge your analytical abilities and offer significant opportunities for professional development within this sector.
Work Environment
- Your primary location will be our office in Surrey.
- Occasional travel to project sites or client locations may be required for meetings related to project acquisition.

Key Responsibilities
As a Lead Geotechnical Estimator, your responsibilities will include:
- Taking charge of opportunities from the initial inquiry through to handover with the execution team.
- Collaborating with internal engineering and delivery teams to formulate suitable tender proposals.
- Engaging in Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) phases of potential projects.
- Coordinating designs on Design & Build contracts.
- Estimating project costs and creating compelling tender submissions.
- Presenting geotechnical solutions to prospective clients.
Candidate Profile
- Ideally, you will have over 5 years of experience in the specialized field of ground engineering.
- A solid grasp of geotechnical principles is essential.
- Previous experience in estimating for piling, slope stabilization, ground anchoring, and grouting packages is preferred.
- You should possess the ability to manage your own schedule and meet deadlines effectively.
- Comfort in communicating with colleagues, potential clients, external consultants, and other industry professionals is crucial.
- Experience in estimating from foundational principles is advantageous.
