AWE is seeking a Lead Facility Engineering Specialist to provide and oversee professional engineering services, supporting the Principal Asset Engineer in achieving the strategic objectives for the maintenance of all essential assets and equipment required for operational success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize comprehensive field and technical expertise to ensure design intent, as-built standards, and system performance throughout the asset's life cycle for facility systems and structures.
- Analyze and fulfill the requirements of intricate and high-stakes tasks, including troubleshooting, quoting, reporting, design, commissioning, and handover, to make informed engineering decisions for resolving technical challenges.
- Mentor and guide engineers in the execution of innovative solutions to multifaceted engineering issues.
- Recognize, escalate, and manage risks associated with the condition of engineered systems and structures.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory standards pertinent to operations in a highly regulated environment, including Safe Systems of Work (SSoW).
- Collaborate with company delivery and administrative protocols, aiding in performance management and team advancement.
- Where applicable, assume additional responsibilities such as Appointed Person or Asset Change Manager (corporate training provided).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience in leading engineering initiatives across infrastructure facilities within highly regulated sectors such as oil & gas, rail, aerospace, or chemical & explosive industries.
- Expertise in facility engineering and maintenance services throughout an asset's life cycle.
- Knowledge of electrical building services, including LV/HV, HVAC, small power and lighting, lightning protection, ATEX, UPS, etc.
- An HNC/HND/Level 4 qualification complemented by relevant experience.
