Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to take on the role of Musculoskeletal Clinical Specialist across North Wales.

The Post holder will be required to:

  • Work as an autonomous, extended scope practitioner, with an extended scope of physiotherapy practice to work within a team to deliver a clinical specialist service to patients referred to MSK physiotherapy services.
  • Support the delivery of clinical services across the region in a variety of locations according to service demands, delivering a high-quality service in line with the clinical governance.
  • The post holder will be responsible for the delivery and development of practice in the specialist area of Musculoskeletal medicine within physiotherapy and work closely with other MSK clinical specialists.

Main Duties of the Job

To take a clinical lead role in the assessment and treatment of patients where the caseload will comprise of mainly patients with complex presentations.

To work as an autonomous, clinical specialist physiotherapist. To work with the advanced practitioner physiotherapist to develop and deliver a high-quality clinical service throughout the region.

To develop competencies for frontline clinical staff within the section in order to assess, clinically reason and effectively treat routine cases and identify those with complex needs where support may be required.

To provide an ongoing rolling training programme and support package to develop appropriate knowledge and skills in the workforce within the specialism and rotational staff base.
