We are seeking a skilled Server-Side Software Engineer to contribute to our innovative projects. This role focuses on two primary responsibilities: enhancing our current platform and collaborating on a significant project to develop a new version of the application utilizing a microservices architecture. This endeavor will require close cooperation with a Data Architect and Front-End Developer to design the new modules for the upcoming version of the application, which serves as a custom-built platform for online quoting, binding, and formal documentation issuance, along with analytics for underwriting and portfolio performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable server-side applications and services.
  • Produce clean, well-documented, and maintainable code adhering to industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate server-side logic with frontend components.
  • Work alongside database administrators to optimize data storage and retrieval processes.
  • Enhance server applications for optimal speed, performance, and scalability.
  • Diagnose and resolve server-related issues promptly.
  • Implement security measures and data protection protocols.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in backend development.
  • Contribute to system architecture discussions and decisions.

Candidate Profile:

  • Significant experience as a Backend Developer or in a similar capacity.
  • Strong proficiency in ASP.NET (C#) and SQL.
  • Familiarity with backend frameworks and libraries.
  • Knowledge of both relational and NoSQL database systems.
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and web service technologies.
  • Experience with serverless architectures and microservices.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with Azure services, including APIM, Azure Functions, and event-based solutions.
  • Proficiency in programmatic interactions with MS Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of testing frameworks and test-driven development methodologies.
  • Awareness of security best practices and implementation strategies.
  • Skills in performance optimization and profiling.
  • Experience with Azure cloud platforms.
  • Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Knowledge of SSO technologies like IdentityServer4/B2C and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong motivation to succeed.
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Experience in the insurance sector is beneficial but not essential.
