We are thrilled to announce an opportunity for a Logistics Operations Supervisor to become a vital part of our team at Culina Group on a full-time permanent basis.
Salary: £29,665 per annum.
Working Schedule: 4 on 4 off, 6am-6pm.
In the role of Logistics Operations Supervisor, you will oversee the round-the-clock transport activities, leading the team of Transport Supervisors and assisting the Transport Manager in maintaining cost efficiency aligned with budgetary expectations.
Key Responsibilities of a Logistics Operations Supervisor:
- Collaborating with the Transport Manager and Planning Teams to optimize backloads, pinpointing cost-saving opportunities, trailer utilization, and overall cost efficiency.
- Ensuring optimal planning and utilization of drivers and subcontracted haulage for deliveries from various warehousing locations.
- Serving as a point of escalation for addressing inquiries via telephone, fax, and email from customers, subcontracted hauliers, and warehousing facilities.
- Cultivating and sustaining strong working relationships with team members, vendors, hauliers, and partners.
- Coordinating with the traffic and administration teams to uphold the highest performance standards consistently.
- Reporting issues and managing any challenges or inquiries that may arise.
- Engaging in daily communication with operational teams, vendors, and customers regarding changes to network and route plans.
- Driving continuous improvement for cost reductions by identifying potential savings through tactical route adjustments.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in transport and office environments, demonstrating a high level of transport knowledge and expertise in a fast-paced setting.
- Familiarity with transport policy and strategy development, along with experience in master planning and a solid understanding of transportation and planning systems.
- CPC National certification is desirable but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills, coupled with a high level of numeracy.
- Outstanding communication skills to convey accurate information effectively.
- Proficient IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
