Senior Electrical Engineer for Data Centre Project

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team for a critical data centre project in Slough, UK. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data centre projects and a strong understanding of electrical systems and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with project designers and clients to ensure seamless integration and compliance with UK Electrical Regulations.
  • Evaluate electrical design documentation against client, ISO/EN/BS standards, and ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Work with designers and specialist sub-contractors to determine and manage system integration requirements.
  • Develop weekly technical engineering progress reports and implement systems to enhance efficiency and sustainability.
  • Procure long lead items and maintain a comprehensive LLE Procurement register.
  • Perform and validate cable types/sizes calculations, containment capacity studies, and develop cable matrix schedules and construction work packs.
  • Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs) for LLE Equipment.
  • Utilize BIM360 / Navis for detailed coordination of multidisciplinary services and highlight solutions for design discrepancies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Demonstrable experience with mechanical and electrical DH building services systems, HV/LV Power Distribution, and various integrated systems.
  • Proficient use of BIM360 / Navis and a solid understanding of Electrical Standards and Systems including Medium and Low Voltage Networks, Electrical Switchgear and Power Distribution, Instrumentation and Control Systems, Life Safety Systems, Security and Access Control.
  • Effective in identifying and offering solutions to design discrepancies impacting project milestones.
  • Ability to adapt and respond to changes, communicate commercial implications, and ensure project continuity.
