Job Summary:
The University of Birmingham is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Director of Estates to lead the development and delivery of our ambitious Campus Vision. As a key member of the University Executive Board, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our estate and driving excellence in service delivery.
About the Role:
The Director of Estates will be responsible for leading the Estates Division, comprising over 200 staff, and overseeing a significant budget of £128m. You will work closely with the Vice Chancellor, Registrar, and Chief Operating Officer to provide strategic advice and support the delivery of the University's net zero targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Campus Masterplan, aligning with the University's strategic objectives
- Lead the delivery of major capital projects, including the transformation of our estate and infrastructure
- Oversee the management of our diverse estate, comprising over 600 acres and 200 buildings
- Collaborate with international architects and stakeholders to drive innovation and excellence in estate development
- Provide strategic advice to the University Executive Board on estate-related matters
