About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Security Officer to join our team at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. As a Security Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a visible security presence throughout the hospital, delivering a polite, efficient, and compassionate service to patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents, including detaining patients against their will at the request of clinical personnel, where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including police and emergency services, to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Participate in fire alarm procedures and respond to critical and medical alarms.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with patients, visitors, and staff, providing empathetic and persuasive communication to achieve positive outcomes.
Requirements
  • Healthcare background and experience working in a challenging environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on patient safety and security.
  • Health and Safety knowledge and a full UK driving license (desirable).
