Project Overview: This role is centered around a pioneering project involving the construction of a large diameter, high-pressure, cross-country pipeline in the northwest region.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Report directly to the Project Director, overseeing the strategy, planning, execution, and management of safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ) aspects of a major infrastructure initiative.
  • Lead and inspire all project personnel, collaborating closely with the broader project management team to manage systems and staff within the project SHEQ team.
  • Provide expert coaching, advice, and guidance to motivate and encourage all project team members, ensuring compliance with legislation and promoting continuous improvement.
  • Aim to establish and maintain world-class performance in Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality, contributing to net zero and enhanced sustainability.
  • Oversee SHEQ during engineering and construction phases, acting as the primary contact for client and project leadership on SHEQ matters.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of the Construction Phase Plan throughout project execution.
  • Foster a culture of safety and security through behavior-based coaching at all project levels.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of CDM regulations, advising on various roles such as Client, Principal Designer, and Principal Contractor.
  • Assist project representatives in evaluating contractor competence and identifying training needs.
  • Provide monthly health and safety data and statistics to the SHEQ Director as required.
  • Develop internal relationships to address issues, promote learning, and identify collaboration opportunities.
  • Engage proactively with the supply chain to share project insights and best practices.
  • Introduce local initiatives and campaigns while supporting broader organizational plans.
  • Conduct trend analysis to identify and mitigate foreseeable risks early in the project lifecycle.

Requirements: Candidates must be highly proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and comfortable managing large data sets. This is a full-time position, operating from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday.
