Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Logistics Operations Leader to join our team at Barrett Steel. This role is pivotal in overseeing the warehouse operations and managing a team of approximately 30 personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily shifts within the warehouse, ensuring all operational tasks are executed efficiently.
  • Collaborate closely with the Operations Manager and Shift Team Leaders to uphold all Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.
  • Supervise the receipt of goods, ensure accurate stock picking, and facilitate timely deliveries.
  • Lead the shift teams to achieve and surpass productivity, cost management, customer service, and quality benchmarks.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety, Quality, Environmental, and Group policies, as well as all relevant legislative requirements.
  • Adapt and respond flexibly to operational needs, promoting a culture of safety through the application of lean methodologies.
  • Foster effective communication between operations, planning, and commercial teams to align customer expectations with operational capabilities.
  • Engage in hands-on activities within the warehouse as necessary.
  • Exhibit strong leadership and team management skills, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office to manage administrative tasks while maintaining operational efficiency.
