Senior Town Planner

We are seeking an experienced Town Planner to join our team at Squires Planning, a dynamic and rapidly growing independent private Planning Consultancy. As a Senior Town Planner, you will play a key role in managing a diverse portfolio of projects and supporting the Director of Planning in shaping the future of our company.
With a strong foundation and extensive industry experience, our consultancy is poised for strategic growth, and we are looking for a talented individual to join our team in Swindon. As a Senior Town Planner, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, including commercial, residential, solar and wind farm projects, education, local authority and neighbourhood planning, and manor house replacements and housebuilder schemes.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and run planning projects independently, collaborating with the Director and supporting junior planners.
- Assist the Director in providing mentorship and guidance to junior planners.
- Confidently engage in public inquiries and client interactions, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- For Principal/Associate-level candidates, demonstrate the ability to bring in new work while remaining involved in hands-on project tasks.
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Town Planner with a strong background in the public or private planning sector. You will have a relevant planning degree or equivalent qualification, Chartered membership of the RTPI, and at least 3 years of relevant UK-based experience. You will also have excellent project and client management abilities, proficiency in producing well-written and presented documents, and a strong network of contacts.
Desirable skills include an existing client base or network of contacts, a proven track record of winning new work, and a willingness to engage in hands-on project management while preparing the company for more team members.
