Senior Maintenance Planning Engineer (Team Lead)

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Maintenance Planning Engineer to join our team at Bournemouth airport. As a key member of our Planning Team, you will be responsible for delivering the full life cycle planning process for all MRO base maintenance locations, ensuring on-time, quality, and budget delivery of aircraft inputs.

To achieve this, you will work closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teams, including engineering and supply line, to produce accurate customer and internal service reports. Your excellent understanding and application of Part 145/Part M (CAMO) regulations, combined with your extensive knowledge and experience of the full planning life cycle for aircraft inputs, will be essential in this role.

As a strong customer-oriented individual with excellent communication skills, you will lead a team of Maintenance Planners and be responsible for developing and fully utilizing operational processes to ensure efficient operational performance. You will also be the point of contact for customers and the interface between our engineering team and the customer.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Developing and implementing operational processes to ensure efficient operational performance
  2. Providing customer service and client contact, including daily status reports on aircraft serviceability
  3. Pre-input planning, work pack generation, check progression, and work pack closure process
  4. Controlling completed work orders and certification documents, ensuring accurate closure, billing, and delivery to customers
  5. Ensuring customer requirements are understood and our engineering response is planned, coordinated, and executed efficiently
  6. Liaising with customers daily to provide status reports on aircraft serviceability
  7. Liaising with local operational teams to ensure smooth running of the department
  8. Participating in the quality audit programme and ensuring audit closure actions are developed and implemented
  9. Reporting all SMS/Quality issues
  10. Performing other duties related to the position as directed by the line manager
  11. Providing briefings for engineering departmental management on a regular basis
  12. Supporting the Quality & Safety team regarding their duties to ensure all processes and department tasks are fulfilled

Requirements:

Essential:
  1. Possess an ICAO Type II level Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) Licence or an Aeronautical Degree
  2. Extensive planning experience within a Business Aviation Aircraft Engineering environment
  3. Clear understanding of Part 145/Part M (CAMO) regulations
  4. Strong customer-oriented attitude to act as customer advocate
  5. Technical sales experience (quoting)
  6. Team leader and positive role model
Advantageous:
  1. Working knowledge of Part 21 regulations
  2. Competent in the use of MRO planning as well as CAMO software
