About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Planning Specialist to join our dynamic planning consultancy team. You will play a crucial role in driving the success of our national growth strategies by assessing development potential, liaising with design teams, and managing planning applications.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough site assessments to evaluate development opportunities and identify potential planning constraints.
  • Collaborate closely with our design team to ensure optimal planning solutions for each project.
  • Represent Churchill Retirement Living at initial planning meetings, effectively communicating our vision and objectives.
  • Prepare comprehensive planning applications, including meticulous research and submission documentation.
  • Proactively monitor the progress of planning applications, addressing any queries or concerns raised by authorities.
  • Coordinate and submit discharge of conditions applications to ensure timely project progression.
  • Provide support in managing appeals, including attending hearings when required.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of planning policies, procedures, and legislation. You should have a proven track record in public or private practice and ideally experience with affordable housing policies. Membership with MRTPI is essential, along with a Degree/Diploma in Town Planning.

Strong negotiation, communication, and influencing skills are crucial for success in this role, as you will be interacting with a diverse range of stakeholders. You should be a highly organized individual with the ability to manage your own caseload effectively while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
