Canterbury, Kent, United Kingdom Canterbury Cathedral Full time
About Canterbury Cathedral

Canterbury Cathedral is a revered institution, serving as the cathedral of the archbishop of Canterbury and a symbol of the Church of England's leadership. Located in Kent, it is one of the oldest Christian structures in England and a part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The cathedral relies heavily on its dedicated team of volunteers, who contribute significantly to its operations. We are seeking a skilled professional to develop and implement a strategic plan for the volunteer population, providing expert guidance and support.

This is a new role that plays a critical part in enhancing the cathedral's volunteer program, bringing technical expertise to the volunteering cohort, and transitioning the organization to be truly volunteer-centric.

We are looking for a talented individual with the following qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of best practices in volunteer management
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategic volunteering plans
  • Experience in transforming volunteer processes or introducing volunteer programs for similar organizations
  • Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate teams
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage positively with diverse groups of volunteers and colleagues
  • A collaborative approach and a passion for championing volunteer engagement

If you possess the skills and experience outlined above and are passionate about volunteer management, we would love to hear from you.
