FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT

ROLE SUMMARY:


As a Financial Accounting Assistant, you will work closely with the Finance Manager to support the Month End and Management Accounts processes.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the preparation of management accounts, including comprehensive reconciliation of the Balance Sheet and P&L statements.
  • Inputting month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments, and payroll entries.
  • Reviewing stock calculations and ensuring accurate balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Preparing the Monthly VAT returns and verifying that all transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Conducting monthly sales reviews and reconciliations.
  • Supporting the Finance Manager during Year End and External Audits by compiling essential information.
  • Maintaining the Fixed Asset register and ensuring balance sheet reconciliations are completed.
  • Preparing monthly margin analysis data and reconciling it with accounts.
  • Assisting in the development of the monthly financial Board Pack.
CANDIDATE PROFILE:


The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience as a Financial Accounting Assistant or relevant experience in an Accounts Assistant role with involvement in month-end reporting.
  • Knowledge of Accruals, Prepayments, and Journals.
  • Preferably AAT Level 4 or Part Qualified CIMA or ACCA, although exceptional candidates without these qualifications will be considered.
  • Intermediate proficiency or higher in MS Excel.
  • The ability to work autonomously and manage various tasks efficiently.
