Job Title: Wound Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Wound Care Specialist to join our team at the NHS. As a key member of our tissue viability team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality individualized care to patients with complex wounds.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to facilitate high-quality individualized care to patients.
  • Support the Lead Tissue Viability Nurse Specialist in monitoring standards of care by clinical audit throughout the Trust.
  • Manage an agreed caseload using in-depth knowledge of the patient/client group.
  • Contribute to the implementation and ongoing development of Trust policies and guidelines relating to pressure area management, leg ulcer management, and wound management.
Person Specification:
  • Demonstrable ability to meet the Trust Values.
  • Mentorship/preceptorship or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Working towards a degree or evidence of continuing education.
  • Wound management course and/or leg ulcer modules/relevant clinical experience.
Requirements:
  • 3 years post-registration experience.
  • Experience in managing complex wounds.
  • Experience of MDT working.
  • Experience of implementing change in a clinical setting.
Skills and Aptitudes:
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of current advances in wound care, pressure ulcers, and leg ulcer management.
  • An understanding of quality, clinical risk, clinical governance, national benchmarks, and other professional issues.
  • Knowledge of research & audit methodology.
Other Requirements:
  • Computer Literacy.
  • Flexible approach to work.
  • Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
