Position Overview

Offshore Service Engineer

Company Overview:
James Fisher and Sons plc is a leading provider of specialized equipment rental services, including air compression systems, steam generation units, and cooling solutions for offshore operations. We pride ourselves on delivering tailored engineering solutions and competent personnel to ensure the highest standards of operational safety and quality.

Role Summary:
The Offshore Service Engineer will be responsible for the operation, servicing, and maintenance of our rental fleet in alignment with company protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare equipment to meet operational requirements.
- Adhere to service procedures and standards as outlined by the company.
- Uphold safety regulations in compliance with Occupational Health & Safety standards.
- Manage the packaging, maintenance, and operation of equipment both onshore and offshore, following established service guidelines.

Reporting and Documentation:
- Complete service reports, maintain minimum spare stock levels, and manage handover documentation as per company procedures:
  • Ensure proper maintenance of livery, decals, and signage.
  • Calibrate safety devices as required.
  • Conduct third-party inspections.
  • Perform pressure tests on hoses when necessary.
  • Work safely in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety regulations.
  • Maintain professionalism and courtesy towards customers and colleagues at all times.

- Undertake any additional responsibilities as directed by the Line Manager, ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently to meet business needs.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Prior mechanical experience in a related role.
- Familiarity with diesel engines and shutdown systems.
- Experience with pressure testing in previous positions.
- Awareness of COSHH regulations.
- Training in working at heights.
- Completion of risk assessment training.
- Offshore survival training and a valid offshore medical certificate.
- Training in steam boiler operations.
- Experience with air compressor systems.
- H2S awareness training.

Additional Information:
A flexible approach to working patterns is essential, as extensive travel may be required for this role.
