Position Overview

Eligibility Requirements

This position is exclusively available to UK nationals. Candidates must have resided in the UK for the past five years and must be able to obtain the necessary security clearance without any restrictions that would impede the role. The clearance process can be extensive, and any conditional offer may be rescinded if clearance is not achieved within the specified timeframe.

Role Responsibilities

We are seeking a candidate with a background in systems, electronics, or communications engineering, particularly those interested in working with maritime platforms. The successful applicant will join our Situational Awareness Command and Control (SACC) team, part of the Integrated Battlespace Operating Centre (IBOC).

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the engineering aspects of maritime Tactical Data Link (TDL) projects to ensure operational readiness and situational awareness.
  • Providing expert guidance throughout the equipment lifecycle, including the integration of new technologies.
  • Leading system requirements in alignment with verification and validation protocols.
  • Conducting hands-on testing and integration of advanced technologies for future naval platforms.
  • Delivering outputs in accordance with Engineering Management and Specialist Engineering Plans.
  • Diagnosing and resolving operational defects on maritime platforms.

Candidate Profile

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Possess a minimum Level 4 qualification (HNC or equivalent) in a relevant field, or demonstrate equivalent experience.
  • Be a Chartered or Incorporated Engineer, or possess equivalent knowledge and skills.
  • Have a proven track record of providing technical advice and leading successful engineering projects.
  • Demonstrate technical expertise in communications, electronics, or systems engineering across various contexts.

In addition to the above, candidates will be assessed on their technical competencies and interpersonal skills during the interview process.
