Role Responsibilities
The Mechanical Inspector will be responsible for the following:
- Conducting inspections of precision components produced in-house, as well as those from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Developing and executing CMM programs using PC-DMIS for both new and existing components.
- Creating and modifying CMM setup and operational instructions for updated programs.
- Performing first-off inspections.
- Executing first article inspection (FAI) reporting for both single-level parts and multi-level assemblies.
- Maintaining and updating documentation related to inspection procedures.
- Collaborating with subcontractors and suppliers as necessary.
- Conducting source inspections at supplier locations.
- Performing patrol inspections within manufacturing areas.
- Issuing Non-conformance reports (NCRs) and dimensional reports.
- Engaging in calibration duties, including the calibration of mechanical and electrical equipment, along with managing quotations and purchase orders for such equipment, with comprehensive training provided.
Required Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Mechanical Inspector role will possess:
- A recognized mechanical qualification along with relevant experience in mechanical inspection.
- Knowledge and experience with various inspection techniques.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments.
- Strong understanding of ISO 9001:2001 standards, with familiarity in AS9100 Rev D being advantageous.
- Experience in mechanical manufacturing processes.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings accurately.
- Capability to understand engineering drawing tolerancing, including geometric tolerancing.
- Experience in CMM programming and operation, preferably with PC-DMIS software.
