About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Specialist school for pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The successful candidate will have experience of working with highly complex A.S.D./SEMH pupils and will be responsible for supporting them in developing their day-to-day and academic skills, as well as their social and emotional needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting pupils with SEMH needs in developing their day-to-day and academic skills
  • Providing interventions and cover classes across the school
  • Working with teachers to develop and implement learning activities
  • Supporting pupils with complex emotional and behavioural needs

Requirements

  • Experience of working with pupils with SEMH needs
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar role
  • Ability to work with complex emotional and behavioural needs
  • Restraint training or de-escalation training desirable
