About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional individual to lead our English Department at Future Academies Watford. As the Head of English, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality learning takes place and outstanding attainment and progress are secured at all key stages.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead the English Department to deliver a knowledge-rich and child-centric curriculum.
  2. Develop and implement sophisticated lessons that raise teaching standards within English.
  3. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective approach to teaching and learning.
  4. Contribute to the development of the school's curriculum and assessment strategies.
  5. Provide guidance and support to colleagues to ensure they are equipped to deliver high-quality teaching and learning.

About You

We are looking for an individual with a strong academic record, a passion for English, and excellent communication skills. You will have the ability to inspire young people and instill a love of English as an academic subject. You will also have a deep understanding of the importance of cultural literacy and the ability to deliver lessons that continue to raise teaching standards within English.
