Senior Innovation Manager

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Programme Manager to join our Innovations team. As a key member of the team, you will foster close collaboration with the Business Development team and play a crucial role in the delivery of new activities and funding calls aimed at expanding the NIHR offer to industry and its engagement with investors.
You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of exciting projects led by small and medium enterprises, academia, and NHS Trusts, which are thriving to make an impact in the NHS and the UK economy. Your key responsibilities will include programme operations and commissioning, due diligence, contracting, and portfolio management, as well as comms and engagement, and staff management.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement programme strategies to achieve business objectives
- Manage and coordinate programme operations, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Conduct due diligence and contracting activities to ensure programme success
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including industry partners, academia, and NHS Trusts
- Provide comms and engagement support to programme teams
- Manage and develop programme staff, including performance management and training
What You Will Bring to the Role
- Proven experience in programme management, preferably in a research management or technology transfer environment
- Excellent understanding of the health and social care innovation ecosystem, including product development and translational research pathways
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
- Experience in managing diverse internal and external relationships, including industry partners, academia, and NHS Trusts
