Job Title: Cover Driver

Sims Limited is a global leader in metal recycling, with a strong commitment to environmental sustainability and social responsibility. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cover Driver to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure safe and efficient transportation of goods, adhering to company procedures and regulations.
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation, including delivery records and safety checks.
  • Attend training sessions and workshops to maintain knowledge and skills, contributing to continuous improvement.
  • Report any incidents or damage to equipment or machinery, ensuring prompt corrective action.
  • Provide excellent customer service, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Maintain the security and integrity of goods carried, adhering to company standards.
  • Participate in projects and initiatives, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to learn.
  • Promote Sims Limited's values and mission to colleagues, customers, and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular safety checks on vehicles, ensuring roadworthiness and compliance with regulations.
  • Collaborate with function managers to address non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
  • Adhere to all company policies, including Code of Conduct, Environmental, Health and Safety, and Community.
Requirements:
  • Clean HGV Licence Class 1, Digital Tachograph card, and full driver CPC entitlement.
  • Previous experience in HGV driving, with bulk material driving experience preferred.
  • Strong logistical and geographical knowledge, with excellent writing skills.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel, with potential for extended periods away from home.
