About the Role

Slater Heelis, a leading full-service law firm, is seeking a highly skilled Court of Protection Solicitor to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our Court of Protection department, you will play a vital role in safeguarding and supporting vulnerable individuals, including those with acquired brain injuries, dementia, and other serious conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a mixed caseload, including brain injury and elderly client matters, with a focus on providing expert advice and support.
  • Supervise the management of client property and financial matters, ensuring the highest level of care and attention to detail.
  • Provide support to both adult and child clients, fostering enduring relationships built on trust and understanding.
  • Collaborate closely with partners and the rest of the team to oversee a varied caseload, sharing knowledge and expertise to achieve exceptional outcomes.
  • Deal with the routine management of deputyship and personal injury trusts, receiving guidance and supervision from senior team members as needed.
  • Liaise with clients, their families, case managers, and other professionals, handling all matters with sensitivity and discretion.
  • Work closely with the firm's Personal Injury and Medical Negligence solicitors on litigating cases, contributing to the development of complex legal strategies.
  • Assist senior team members with complex cases, providing support and expertise to ensure the best possible results.
  • Draft applications to the Court of Protection, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail in all documentation.
  • Draft annual Deputy Reports, providing a comprehensive overview of client progress and needs.
  • Co-ordinate interim billing and the detailed assessment of professional costs, ensuring seamless financial management.
  • Contribute to business development and marketing initiatives, helping to promote the firm's expertise and services.
