Job Title: Classroom Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Classroom Assistant to join our team at a brilliant Alternative Provision school. This school has been nationally recognised for its student services and provides a supportive and inclusive environment for students with Social Emotional Mental Health needs.

Job Summary:

As a Classroom Assistant, you will be responsible for providing whole class support to small groups of Key Stage 3 students. You will work closely with experienced teachers to ensure that every child gets the most out of each day. This role requires experience supporting children or young adults with additional needs, and a level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting challenging behaviours in small classes of KS3 students
  • Working as a Teaching Assistant / Classroom Assistant
  • Acting as a positive role model for students
  • Delivering 1-2-1 intervention sessions focused on communication and behaviours
  • Helping students to reengage with education
