Position Overview

Automotive Control Systems Specialist - Everrec

Everrec is seeking an Automotive Control Systems Specialist to join our innovative team. If you have a passion for transforming classic vehicles into advanced electric automobiles, we would like to connect with you.

At Everrec, we are pioneers in the automotive sector, dedicated to converting vintage cars into modern electric vehicles (EVs). Our goal is to merge the classic allure of historic automobiles with eco-friendly, high-performance electric powertrains, ensuring these iconic cars remain significant in today's world.

In addition to providing classic car owners with the opportunity to enjoy their vehicles in a modern context, we also maintain a robust B2B segment. Through our Powered by Everrec (PBE) division, we are crafting innovative EV solutions for prestigious clients, advancing electric vehicle technology, and contributing to a sustainable future. Our clientele includes original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), technology enthusiasts, and sustainability advocates across various industries.

The position emphasizes the development of comprehensive vehicle electrical systems and control mechanisms, enhancing our existing vehicle control unit (VCU) platform, and collaborating with external partners on intricate software initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Model Development:

  • Lead the creation of next-generation electronic control units (ECUs) through model-based software development, including software-in-the-loop (SIL), hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), and vehicle testing and validation, supporting a platform-centric approach to EV design.

Control Architecture:

  • Participate in defining the overarching vehicle control architecture and strategy, ensuring that project technical specifications are fulfilled.

Design and Implementation:

  • Accountable for the design, development, and delivery of various low-voltage vehicle systems software and hardware across multiple electric vehicle projects, collaborating closely with the mechanical design and integration teams to ensure timely and budget-compliant project execution.

Compliance and Evaluation:

  • Develop system-level design failure mode and effects analysis (DFMEA) and design verification plans (DVP), ensuring adherence to relevant regulatory standards. Conduct component, system, and vehicle-level testing to support DVP completion.

Requirements Management:

  • Create system and component-level requirements documentation and oversee suppliers to deliver hardware in alignment with project timelines.

Technical Support:

  • Provide practical support to the workshop team and build technicians, troubleshooting complex electrical issues on prototype vehicles in a build environment. Document build processes and engineering modifications.

Project Oversight:

  • Manage the Bill of Materials (BoM), budget, and project timeline for your systems/projects. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure hardware delivery aligns with project milestones.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of vehicle control strategies and model-based software development.
  • Experience in automotive system design, development, and implementation.
  • Knowledge of vehicle electrical and control architecture.
  • Familiarity with DFMEA and DVP methodologies.
  • Understanding of CANbus systems and data logging analysis.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in electrical hardware design and development.
  • Hands-on experience working on vehicles in a workshop setting.
  • Knowledge of vehicle low-voltage systems and harnessing best practices.
  • Experience in low-voltage harness design.
  • Familiarity with EV system architecture, including motors, traction inverters, DC-DC converters, power distribution chargers, and thermal systems.
  • Experience with functional safety and EV regulatory standards.
  • Willingness to learn and engage in all facets of vehicle development.
