Maintenance Engineer Job Description

Omega Resource Group is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for performing modifications, retrofit activity, corrective action, overhaul, repair, and maintenance of aircraft components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct surveys and provide reports on incoming equipment to assess the time taken to complete the work needed.
  • Carry out scheduled maintenance on seats and components returned by customers.
  • Conduct repairs and embody modifications on customer equipment, investigating and confirming reported damage and defects.
  • Set up, functionally test, and adjust components, assemblies, and systems for required performance using precision instruments and special test equipment.
  • Investigate defects and record failures in accordance with Quality procedures.
  • Accurately complete associated maintenance paperwork and use SAP to record work in progress and component locations.

Requirements:

  • Recognized trade apprenticeship or trade training equivalent.
  • Knowledge of general aircraft maintenance and environment processes.
  • Experience in maintenance, modification, and repair of aircraft components.
  • General work background in manufacturing or engineering.
  • Inspection experience desirable.
  • Aerospace background desirable.
  • Basic grounding in H&S policies and procedures, and COSHH.
  • Numeracy and geometry skills.
  • Experience of using Inspection Tools and Equipment.
  • Working knowledge of GDT (geometrical dimensional tolerancing).
  • Experience of using hand tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Capable of explaining technical terms and processes.
  • Basic PC skills.
