Robert Walters is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join a dynamic and growing Manchester-based business as their number two in finance.

Reporting to an impressive Financial Director, the successful individual will oversee the management, development, and growth of a team, embed new processes and controls to ensure a seamless and efficient finance function, build financial models to be utilized for future commercial analysis, and play a key role in navigating future transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mentor, develop, and grow the finance team within the Manchester office.
  • Build strong working relationships with stakeholders from various departments, including operations and technology.
  • Oversee the production of month-end reporting.
  • Cash flow forecasting and update the Senior Leadership Team on financial performance.
  • Drive continuous improvements to processes within finance.
  • Maintain the balance sheet on a monthly basis.
  • Oversee a smooth year-end audit and be a key contact for the external auditors.
  • Provide commercial oversight of the business's financial position to direct future investments and spend.
  • Play a key role in a systems change/upgrade.

Your Background:

  • Fully qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 2+ years' experience within industry.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and develop relationships at all levels.
  • Solid experience of driving process improvements and implementing and maintaining robust financial controls.
  • Strong systems skills, ideally with experience of a systems upgrade or implementation.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Team management would be an advantage.
