Structured Cabling Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Structured Cabling Engineer to join our team at Bauhaus Consultants. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the installation of structured cabling systems for our clients across the UK.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct site surveys and pre-installation meetings to ensure a thorough understanding of project requirements.
- Plan and execute cable runs, overcoming any building or logistical complications that may arise.
- Provide leadership and guidance to project delivery teams, maximizing the potential of the team and individual members.
- Install structured cabling systems, including CAT 6/6A/7, and secondary containment where required.
- Install floor-mounted communication cabinets and server racks, with a focus on cable management and dressing.
- Terminate, test, and label cables within patch panels and data outlets.
- Competently trace and fault-find data cables.
- Update internal documentation and drawings as necessary.
- Liaise with on-site trades to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Liaise with the Office team and Project Management team to ensure seamless communication.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the structured cabling industry.
- Demonstrable experience in the installation of structured cabling systems, including CAT 5e/6/6A/7.
- Experience working on construction sites is desirable.
- Fully conversant with the setup and operation of Fluke and LanTek analysers.
- Ability to work from construction drawings.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, verbal and written, with the ability to provide clear and concise documentation, written updates, and reports.
- Time management and quality-focused to successfully complete tasks safely and to the highest standards.
- Customer-focused individual with a proactive and flexible approach to working.
- Good organisation skills and high attention to detail.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Hold a valid CSCS/ECS or equivalent structured cabling/communication industry-related card.
- Hold a valid PASMA/IPAF licence (desirable, training provided if required).
- Hold a valid SSSTS qualification (desirable, training provided if required).
- A current UK driving license.
