We are in search of a
Senior Payroll Assistant to perform the following daily responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities
Act as the first point of contact for payroll inquiries.

Handle the processing of new hires, terminations, tax code adjustments, and other payroll-related information.

Verify timesheets for accuracy and authorization.

Maintain precise records of Benefits in Kind (BIK) and process them through payroll.

Assist in the preparation, reconciliation, and execution of monthly payrolls.

Keep monthly journals and coordinate with the finance department for any related inquiries.

Process pension contributions to the appropriate providers.

Manage Attachment of Earnings Orders and ensure timely payments to local authorities.

Prepare and arrange for the timely payment of monthly payroll liabilities associated with the company's PAYE.

Support the completion of National Statistic returns.

Calculate and submit Payroll Settlement Agreements (PSA) to HMRC.

Assist with year-end payroll processing.

Generate ad hoc payroll reports.

Provide payroll coverage in the absence of the payroll manager.

Knowledge, Experience, Skills, and Abilities
Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a payroll assistant or in a comparable role.

Proficient in payroll software, preferably with experience in Workday or other cloud-based systems.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Up-to-date understanding of payroll legislation related to PAYE, SMP, SSP, NI, and BIK.

Degree in Accounting or pursuing a payroll/finance qualification.

Excellent mathematical and accounting abilities.

Personal Attributes

Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.

Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
