Role Overview

In this position, you will be engaged at a specialized neurological facility dedicated to adults over the age of 18 who have experienced an acquired brain injury.

As a Psychological Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in aiding with evaluations, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions for our clients, under the guidance of the Lead Psychologist. Your responsibilities will also encompass administrative tasks related to clinical operations, including conducting audits, gathering statistical data, and contributing to research initiatives and training programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in psychological evaluations and treatment planning
  • Facilitating therapeutic interventions on an individual and/or group basis, while monitoring and reporting on their effectiveness
  • Supporting the design and delivery of specialized training for staff
  • Contributing to reflective practice sessions for team members
  • Maintaining clinical records and databases
  • Completing outcome assessments
  • Drafting reports for various stakeholders
  • Engaging in service evaluation and research activities, including data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Conducting relevant clinical audits

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of an upper second-class honors degree in Psychology, qualifying for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS)
  • Experience in a similar role as a Psychological Support Assistant within a forensic or mental health environment
  • Proficiency in managing office systems and performing administrative duties
  • Innovative thinking, clinical effectiveness, and a strong commitment to evidence-based therapeutic practices
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Adherence to professional practice standards, including HCPC conduct and BPS ethical guidelines
