Senior Electrical Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing operational maintenance and repairs while adhering to strict timelines, including performing Senior Authorised Person (SAP) duties related to issuing High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) Permits to Work.
  • Managing defect work and HV commissioning effectively, including Capital Projects with electrical contracts valued up to £20 million.
  • Serving as Lead SAP for multiple operational sites, each with varying complexities and a diverse range of HV and LV switchgear, equipment, and transformers.
  • Participating in the on-call out-of-hours rota as part of the team.

Location: Base Location – Beckton STW.

Work Schedule: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with additional standby rota compensation.

Provided Resources: All necessary PPE, tools, and car allowance will be supplied.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in the electrical sector, particularly in fault diagnosis on high voltage equipment, along with a comprehensive understanding of BS7671 (IEE Wiring Regulations).
  • Must be suitably trained, qualified, and experienced as an Authorised Person, with a preference for familiarity with water/wastewater processes and their connection to electrical power distribution systems.
  • Strong team player with excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, effective communication abilities, and a readiness to tackle challenging issues.
  • A valid UK driving licence is essential due to the nature of the role.
