Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Bottling Operations Manager to lead our Bottling/Packaging Area and ensure the delivery of key results in line with our overall site strategy and compliance with relevant legislation.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage Bottling Operations: Ensure the highest possible standards of bottling operations, continuity of management, a sound control environment, and sharing of best practices.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work collaboratively with key stakeholders and teams to harness strong cross-functional relationships that ensure strategic alignment and manufacturing capability to support commercial and marketing needs.
  • Warehouse Management: Ensure the smooth functioning of dry goods warehouses, including material receipt, efficient handling, accurate stock control, minimal damage, or waste, and provide timely supply to bottling lines.
  • Vat Hall Operations: Ensure the efficient functioning of the vat hall, including spirit intake, tanker unloading, regular stock audits, accurate chill filtering, and timely supply to bottling lines.
  • Bottling Operations: Ensure the efficient functioning of bottling operations, crewing appropriately with skilled employees across shifts, optimising labour utilisation, promoting teamwork, ensuring employee welfare, and executing efficient changeovers to produce cased goods to quality standards and production schedule.
  • Trials and Validation: Control trials and validation processes for NPD projects to ensure on-time and on-cost product launches.
  • Cased Goods Warehouses: Ensure the efficient function of cased goods warehouses, control the receipt and inspection of product, drive handling efficiencies, perform accurate audits, minimise damage or decay, provide correct shipping documentation, and accurately pick orders in line with dispatch schedules.
  • Energy and Utility Management: Optimise energy/utility usage across the site bottling operations, minimise all wastage, and continuously improve environmental performance.
  • Quality Control: Manage quality control across the department to ensure full compliance to quality specifications, identifying corrective and preventative actions, and following through to timely completion.
  • Maintenance Support: Deliver comprehensive support to maintenance programmes, working closely to ensure stock availability of critical spares and to identify and implement improvement areas.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure equipment is maintained in proper condition across all Packaging operations, including regular machine cleaning and tidy housekeeping.

Requirements:

  • Leadership Experience: Experience of leading teams manufacturing/packaging within FMCG (food, drinks, etc.)
  • Prioritisation and Management: Can manage multiple and complex priorities
  • Team Management: Is managing large and diverse teams
  • Complex Environment: Able to work at pace within a complex environment, with many product changeovers
  • Continuous Improvement: Has a real focus on CI and OEE
