Position Overview

Reports to Senior Editor/Principal Editor/Editorial Manager

Role Summary

The role of the Editor involves delivering exceptional editing services, which encompass proofreading, styling, and formatting, alongside editorial assistance for a variety of client deliverables. This includes materials such as abstracts, posters, manuscripts, presentations, training materials, newsletters, proposals, and web content.

Key Responsibilities

  • Upholding stringent quality control across all materials produced within OPEN Health.
  • Providing comprehensive editorial support, including proofreading, copyediting, document formatting, and adherence to style guides (both internal and external).
  • Collaborating effectively with team members from medical, scientific, client, and creative services on diverse projects.
  • Identifying and communicating budgetary and deadline concerns to the Client Services teams.
  • Maintaining detailed style guides for all assigned accounts.
  • Developing a thorough understanding of various client brands and relevant disease areas.
  • Staying informed about pertinent industry guidelines, including publication standards.
  • Submitting precise and timely timesheet and expense reports.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in editorial roles within a medical communications environment or similar field, with a solid understanding of editorial workflows.
  • Proven expertise in editing and styling scientific documents.
  • Strong command of grammar and punctuation conventions.
  • Proficiency in MS365 applications, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Adherence to Editorial Services Team protocols and procedures.
  • Capability to review personal work for accuracy and consistency.
  • Strong multitasking skills to meet various deadlines while ensuring quality standards.
  • Experience in utilizing and maintaining reference management systems.
