About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Geospatial Specialist to join our team at Wessex Water. As a key member of our specialist team, you will play a crucial role in the delivery of water treatment, wastewater, and network projects across our region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Smart Geodata Tool Development and Data Analysis:
    • Manage key datasets for business use
    • Create ArcPy/SQL/PowerBi tools
  • Construction and Management of Geodatabases:
    • Automated environment risk options screening/assessment
    • Standardised option layout
    • Training and development of staff in GIS processes
    • Partnership working engagement; including surface water/SuDS/environment opportunity and risk
  • Hydraulic Modelling:
    • Build and verify integrated catchment models
    • Use river quality modelling and survey results to assess the impact of discharges from combined sewer overflows (CSOs)
    • Develop outline solutions to resolve hydraulic problems, using both sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) and more traditional 'hard-engineering' approaches
Requirements
  • Relevant degree
  • Excellent IT and communication skills
  • Good data management, listening, and interpretation skills with an appreciation of technical objectives
  • Ability to communicate technical information to all levels using GIS-based outputs
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite of programs
  • Comfortable working on your own or as part of a team
  • Comfortable managing your time to ensure deadlines are met
  • Understanding of conservation and other environmental legislation
