Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Prime Project Engineer to join our team at Johnson Controls. As a key member of our commissioning team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our building management systems are installed, tested, and functioning correctly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review project specifications and designs to identify any commissioning issues
  • Work with commissioning engineers to ensure that all systems are installed and functioning correctly
  • Liaise with project managers to highlight any operational problems
  • Develop software programs and graphics to ensure proper operation of building control systems
  • Coordinate and create necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation
  • Select materials for assigned projects
  • Load and commission system and network-level controllers
  • Validate complete system functionality and troubleshoot problems with subcontractors
  • Manage and complete the loading, device verification, and commissioning of all system controllers as required
  • Keep current accurate records of commissioning progress
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in BMS control systems
  • HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Previous experience in creating/updating BMS software and graphics
  • Good working knowledge of BMS industry standards and protocols
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Industry standard H&S certification
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
  • Good computer literacy (MS Office; Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • A passion for leading change within the team and becoming a role model amongst peers
  • Ability to work alone and when necessary, within a larger design team
  • Full clean UK driving license
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional certifications/diploma within the related field
  • Working knowledge of Metasys systems
  • Ability to install BMS servers/workstations
