Job Summary:

MERITUS is seeking a skilled Laminator Fitter to join our client in a manufacturing environment. As a key member of the production team, you will be responsible for assembling, fitting, and bonding composite materials to create durable, lightweight structures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare work surfaces by cleaning and applying release agents to ensure optimal material bonding.
• Cut, lay-up, and fit composite materials, such as carbon fiber, according to engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Apply resin and bonding agents to composite materials, ensuring even distribution and proper adhesion.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments to assemble and fit composite components.
• Inspect laminated parts for defects, ensuring they meet quality standards and tolerances.
• Trim, sand, and finish laminated components to achieve specified dimensions and surface finishes.
• Collaborate with production team leaders and quality control to ensure all parts meet required specifications.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols.
• Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of laminating tools and equipment.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in laminating, fitting, or a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of composite materials and laminating techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in laminating and fitting processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing for extended periods and handling materials safely.
