About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and customer-focused ICT professional to join our ICT Service as a Business Relationship Manager. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering ICT-enabled business change strategies across a range of services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build trusting relationships with staff and senior leadership in defined business areas, service areas, directorates, or external public sector partners.
  • Learn and understand the business operation and needs of these areas and advise and guide them in a strategic direction for delivery of ICT-based business solutions.
  • Share business needs and wants with ICT colleagues to ensure ICT is fully informed on the plans and desires of the business area.
  • Establish meetings for ICT 'pre-sales' teams to advise, consult, and provide analysis on both initial ideas and projects.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the ICT strategy and business plan.
Requirements
  • A degree or a professional qualification in a relevant field and at least 5 years' experience within the service area.
  • A proven track record of working with senior stakeholders, leading ICT-enabled business change, and influencing service strategy and putting the customer first.
  • Experience working on large, complex, and cross-cutting programmes and portfolios of ICT-enabled business change.
  • Significant demonstrable experience of stakeholder management, strategy development, production of business cases, business analysis, portfolio, programme, and project management.
  • A detailed knowledge of IT systems and solutions and their effective implementation, with an understanding of current and emerging technologies.
  • Knowledge and experience of the principles and practice of effective people management, excellent customer service, appropriate risk management, and budget management.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the main issues affecting the specified service area(s) and the national, regional, and local customer-related policy and business drivers.
  • Awareness and knowledge of national and international standards such as ITIL, ISO 9000, PRINCE, ISO/IEC 27001.
  • Accredited Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) Advanced Practitioner or Practitioner. Management of Risk practitioner qualification is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in meetings, presentations, and workshops.
  • Time management and team working ability.
  • Presentation, written, and verbal communication, numeracy skills.
  • Influencing and negotiating skills to ensure high-level buy-in, commitment, and resources.
  • Facilitation skills to promote creative thinking and problem-solving by service delivery staff and service area specialists.
  • Commercial and contractual knowledge and awareness.
